Meet Our Team
Lydia is the owner of Aspire Behavioral Solutions. Lydia received her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Trinity University in Chicago and her Master’s degree in psychology from California State University. With 14 years experience and training within the field of behavior analysis, she has worked with diverse populations within many different settings while providing various behavioral treatments. These include skill acquisition programming, interventions for the reduction of challenging behavior, one-on-one parent and staff training, group presentations and workshops, crisis intervention services, feeding interventions, school and agency consultation, social skills training, and other individually tailored interventions and services. Aside from general autism treatment, Lydia specializes in the development and implementation of training packages for staff and parents. While in the field she participated in group parent training research and has created and led many parent and staff trainings for clinics, schools, and agencies. As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBAs), Lydia has a passion for understanding behavior and is dedicated to sharing that understanding with others. Her growing enthusiasm for helping others to reach their full potential is the foundation on which Aspire Behavioral Solutions was created.
Amel is a doctoral student at the University of Kansas and a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg and his Master’s degree from the University of Kansas. During his time at the KU, Amel has been productive in the Applied Behavioral Economics Laboratory where he investigated a variety of topics ranging from the representation of behavior analysis in the public domain to research on risky behavior. He is also very passionate about teaching. His long-term goal is to secure a position at a research university. In his free time, Amel likes to relax and enjoys hanging out with friends and discussing pretty much all things related to the science of behavior. He also loves seeing his kids make progress and entertaining them with train and helicopter noises!
Kelsey is a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) who graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Applied Behavioral Science. She was introduced to working with individuals who have special needs in 2007 through Blue Valley West High School’s “Peer Tutoring” class, which she stayed involved in throughout her high school career and where her passion for special education began. After graduating from the University of Kansas in 2016 Kelsey obtained her RBT credential and worked in local center-based ABA programs with children diagnosed with Autism prior to joining Aspire. She plans to further her education in ABA by obtaining a Master’s degree and working towards becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She is very excited to be part of the Aspire team and loves seeing the progress each child makes while in services!
Drake was born and raised in a small town in east Texas. He enjoys riding dirt bikes, four-wheelers, and spending time with his family. He was raised with his older cousin whom was diagnosed with Autism at age six. Through this personal life experience, Drake quickly developed a passion to change the lives of those living with special needs through ABA. He has been implementing ABA in his everyday life since the young age of 12 but obtained his RBT credential in 2016. Drake, his wife, and their daughter recently relocated to the Kansas City area so that he could pursue his career in behavior analysis and further his educational pursuits.
Paola is a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) who graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavioral Analysis with a specialty in Early Childhood Autism Intervention and a minor in Spanish. She has experience working in center-based programs with various children diagnosed with Autism prior to beginning at Aspire. She is currently working towards getting her BCaBA and plans to enroll to earn her master’s degree and become a BCBA. Some of her favorite things to do include working on DIY projects she finds on Pinterest, spending time with her family and traveling! She is very excited to be part of the Aspire team! She loves hearing children’s contagious laughter, seeing their big smiles and being able to watch children grow and witness so many “firsts” for them in development!
Kari is a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) who graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavioral Science with a specialty in Autism intervention. She worked as a Para in the Autism Cluster classroom for 1 year before beginning at Aspire. Kari has wanted to work with children for as long as she can remember. She loves watching her kids progress everyday and is very passionate about helping kids as well as their families.
Bethany is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She began her career in Georgia working as an implementer in homes and schools. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland University College. After earning her degree she decided to be a stay at home mom for a few years while caring for her two daughters. She entered the field again in Wichita, Kansas working as an implementer in an outpatient clinic, as well as schools and homes. She earned her Master’s degree in Psychology with a focus in Applied Behavioral Analysis. She lives with her husband and two daughters and enjoys gardening, being at the lake, and camping.
Hailie is an RBT that began working with children in a daycare setting, while completing her Master’s degree in psychology. Caring for children came naturally for her and as she gained more experience she began to develop a passion for childhood development and had a child of her own. Hailie was introduced to ABA after the completion of her Master’s degree, where she implemented ABA treatment to children diagnosed with Autism. Before joining the Aspire team Hailie had acquired two years of clinical experience implementing direct ABA treatment and she enjoys that she is able to do the same here, with our Aspire families! When she’s not spending time with her Aspire children she enjoys spending time with her own son, working out, cooking and being outdoors!
Alexis is a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) who has her Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Development from the University of Central Missouri. She worked 4 years for a children’s psychiatric hospital helping kids with behavioral challenges before joining us at Aspire. This is where she developed a love and a passion for working with kids with autism. She’s loves working with kids and watching them as they grow and learn new things, and Aspire is the perfect place for that!
Laken is a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) from South Dakota who was introduced into the field of Behavior Analysis from her Girl Scout Leader almost four years ago. She knew this was going to be her life long dream job from the beginning, she loves seeing her kids make progress and expand their skills and knowledge. Laken has had a variety of experience working in school districts, group homes, client homes, and centers. Laken received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Northern State University and just finished her Masters in Education in Foundations of Behavior! She hopes to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst soon! Laken enjoys spending time outside, learning more about Applied Behavior Analysis, and watching her brother race. She is very excited to be a part of the Aspire team (and we are excited she is here)!
Kristie is Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The University of California Riverside and an Applied Behavior Analysis Certificate from Florida Institute of Technology. Before becoming a treatment implementor for Aspire, she had approximately 6 years of experience working with children with Autism. She has used her passion for children with special needs to create a thriving special needs ministry in Clarksville, Tennessee. Kristie is thrilled to be a part of the Aspire family (and we love having her)!
Steve graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Minor in Applied Behavioral Analysis. He began working at a childhood development center in 2016 that served as the birth of his love for working with children. While studying in the ABA program at KU he took a practicum on children with autism that took that love he had found and turned it into his passion that he now pursues. He hopes to continue learning and working with children with ASD as they inspire him to better himself. In return, he hopes to be able to provide them with the teaching necessary to increase their development towards a better future. Steve is both a filmmaker and a writer in his spare time. With both a pen and a camera he is always thinking of stories to tell, which in turn makes him quite the movie buff and reader.
Catherine is from Columbia, Missouri where she studied elementary and special education at Lincoln University. It was there that she was introduced to applied behavior analysis by one of her professors. The past two years she has worked at a behavioral health clinic working with children, teens, and their families. She is currently working towards her Master’s in applied behavior analysis through Southeast Missouri State University. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, being active outside, and being around her family.
Andrea is a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) who was introduced into this career by a friend a few years ago. Ever since then behavior analysis has been her passion. She loves working with children, seeing, and being apart of their progress! Though most of her experience has been in center-based programs she is loving the new opportunity to work with children in-home and working with the aspire team! She plans on getting her bachelors in Applied Behavior Analysis in the next couple years. When she is not with the kiddos she is with her own daughter catching a movie or visiting a park!
JaShawn graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor’s in Applied Behavior Science with a specialty in Early Childhood Autism Intervention and a minor in Psychology. She was first introduced to ABA from a family member through the practicum program at KU and quickly fell in love with ABA. She is an RBT and in the future she hopes to get a masters in Applied Behavior Science and become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She is super excited to have the opportunity to explore her passion in ABA and grow as an implementer at Aspire! When JaShawn is not working she loves to watch KU basketball (RJCH!!), catching up on her favorite TV shows and browsing through Pinterest.
Jennifer is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She earned her undergraduate degree in Genetics from the University of Kansas. After floating around for a few years, she fell into a job as an in-home implementer for children with autism. She was hooked immediately! She attended Auburn University (War Eagle!) for graduate school and received her Master’s in applied behavior analysis. She has worked in the field as a BCBA for 8 years. She is very excited to be working with children again, and even more excited to be a part of the Aspire team! In her spare time, she loves to watch KU basketball (ROCK CHALK!!) and the KC Chiefs. She also loves watching Criminal Minds and thinks the BAU would be a fascinating place to work!
Madison is a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with a specialist degree in Behavior Analysis from Lindenwood University. She got her masters in Early Intervention in Autism also from Lindenwood University. Before joining Aspire Madison worked with adults in a day program and children in a private school setting for several years. She hopes to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in the near future! When she isn’t working with young children at Aspire she enjoys spending time with her husband and her 2 dogs!
